Hoddesdon Energy Limited is an SPC formed to develop a 10 MW Waste to Energy facility to be constructed and operated in northern London, England, UK.
The project relies on proprietary gasification technology developed by Bio Power Limited (BPL) to convert commercial and industrial waste into energy. Using advanced technology, the merchant-waste gasification facility is expected to divert over 90,000 tonnes of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) waste per annum from landfill, supplied by two of the UK’s leading established waste suppliers, Biffa and Powerday. The project is currently being constructed by Bouygues Energy and Services and is expected to become operational in 2017.
The plant will power 7,000 homes each year, and reduce carbon emissions by 1.5 million tonnes over its lifetime. .
