The Northern extension of Israel’s National Toll Road (30 KM), a BOT tender for the financing, constructing, operating, maintaining the toll highway and transferring it to the State of Israel after the 34-year construction and operation period. The tender, won by Shapir Engineering Cross Israel North Ltd., consists of two sections: (1) Section 7: From Yokneam interchange to Tel Kashish interchange, 6 km in length, and (2) Section 3: From Tel Kashish interchange to Somech interchange, 14 km in length.
This is one of the largest infrastructure projects currently under way, consisting of significant tunnels with overall length of 5 km, as well as six interchanges to connect Route 6 to regional and local roads. Partners are Shafir Engineering, the Italian Pizzaroti Group and Leumi Partners.
